CXC transformed the Ossington street mainstay Baby Huey’s into Small Talk Jazz, delivering a warm, intimate interior with custom millwork, refined finishes, and a completely reimagined atmosphere — built to elevate the guest experience night after night.
The Challenge
The owners set out to completely reimagine the former Baby Huey bar, transforming it into Small Talk Jazz — a warm, intimate venue with character, depth, and a distinct visual identity. The space needed a full remodel that balanced custom millwork, atmospheric lighting, and playful design elements, all while working within the constraints of an existing downtown footprint.
The Solution
CXC led a complete interior rebuild, crafting custom bar millwork, shelving, seating, and architectural details that set the tone for the new space. We introduced a rich material palette — warm woods, curved profiles, brass accents, and textured backgrounds — to bring a layered, lived-in feel that complements the venue’s jazz-driven aesthetic.
