Engineered Display Platform
For a private Drake event, CXC designed and built the illuminated display platform beneath a custom ice sculpture shaped like a Formula 1 race car. The platform was engineered to support the sculpture's weight, integrate under-lit illumination, and hold up outdoors for the duration of the event — a precise, purpose-built base for a one-of-a-kind centerpiece.

The Challenge
For a private Drake event, the brief called for a display platform to support and showcase a custom ice sculpture shaped like a Formula 1 race car. The platform needed to hold significant weight, integrate lighting for a striking nighttime presentation, and hold up outdoors for the duration of the event — all without competing visually with the sculpture itself.
The Solution
CXC designed and built a custom illuminated platform sized and engineered to the sculpture's exact dimensions. The platform was finished to sit seamlessly at the event's outdoor entrance, framing the sculpture without drawing attention away from it.
The Execution
Our team fabricated the platform in-house, building in a channel to catch water. The finished base was installed on-site ahead of the sculpture's placement, sized and levelled precisely.
The Impact
The platform gave the ice sculpture a clean, glowing presentation that held up throughout the event — elevating a one-of-a-kind centrepiece into a fully finished, photograph-ready display.
